IBOtipList at Nove-Noga. The Unofficial Training for IBO Toolbox. The New IBO Wall and Your IBOsocial Pages:
And so it begins. The promised changes for IBOtoolbox version 3.0 began with a new IBO Wall. The New IBO Wall debuted in the late hours of 3/13/2016 between one click and the next for the IBO Toolbox Users on the Dashboard. On 3/24/2016, vast changes were made to our IBOsocial pages. Together, these improvements will change the way that we use IBO Toolbox.

A Look at the New IBO Wall:
After the structural changes, perhaps the most visible change on the IBO Wall is that your posting box is gone. Now you need to click on the link “add new wall entry” to create a new Wall Post. That link is located just above the filter drop-down menu. You will note that the new input box is only tall enough for a single line but all you need to do is drag the corner to make the box larger. When your post is complete, click the arrow Icon to post.

Reply Instead of Comment:
The “Comment” Link has been replaced with a “Reply” Link. While the reply box originates as a single line, we can drag it down to make it larger. We can also Reply to Replies on our posts. This should encourage more participation. The “post comment” link has been replaced with the arrow Icon to post. The other thing I noticed is that the character counter is gone.

*Note: We may as well refer to the secondary portions of the IBOwall posts as the “Reply” area.

IBO Contributors:
Where the IBO Contributor posts were wrapped in green, we now have a heading. I think that may have changed already from the version we saw the first night. These changes are a work in progress so our input is necessary to help create the IBO Toolbox that we need.

Pros and Cons:
One major advantage to this update to our IBOwall is a clear indication when we are Associated with those shown on the wall. One small problem is that the wall is not currently automatically updating. There is an advantage to that. We will no longer be plagued by the entry that changes just as we are prepared to click. Refreshing your page from any wall filter will return you to the “All Wall Posts” setting on the Wall Filter. There is no longer direct sharing from the Wall so we need to make sure that we do our sharing from the Press Releases as we visit them.

An Expanded Filter Menu:
The IBOwall filter drop down menu gives us some excellent options. One of the best options is “IBO Featured Member”. That makes it Very Easy to comment on the Featured Member’s wall posts and visit their Press Releases. It is fine to congratulate the FMOTD in your own wall post but to support the Featured Member, you should put your Congratulations on Their Wall Post.

My Wall Posts:
The filter selection for “My Wall Posts” takes you to your IBO Wall, of course. It is worth noting that, at this time, doing so does not take down the marker for New Comments in the header bar.

Replies to My Posts/comments:
This option in the IBOwall Filter is where the Interaction and Participation may be most evident. Now we can Reply to Wall Posts and to the first level of comments. This will allow for more interaction and participation on the IBOwall. This filter setting displays Posts that you have Participated in according to the most recent post activity. This will allow you to see the most recently active posts giving you an opportunity to keep the conversation going.

Other Changes:
The choice of how many posts to view at one time, 15, 30, 45, has gone away. That’s too bad. I found it very useful. On the other hand, the “show more IBOwall posts” button at the bottom of the Wall Posts seems to be working much better. The default display is now 15 posts. Each Click of the “show more…” button reveals 5 more.

The New IBOsocial Pages:
Major changes were made to our IBOsocial pages. Perhaps the most important is the way the IBO Wall Post for our Press Release is directly integrated. With some exceptions, instead of the comments pointing to the Press Release, the actual “IBO Member Comments” appear on the IBO Wall as well as in our Press Releases. This means that quality comments on Press Releases will be even more important.

Now that the IBO Member Comments will be appearing on our Press Release and on the IBO Wall, it is more important than ever that our IBO Member Comments be relevant. We, might also want to be more careful to make comments that will appear as relevant on the IBO Wall as they do in the Press Release. Remember that our comments can now be replied to. Participation will become more important than ever at the New IBO Toolbox V3.
