In the world of network marketing, many of the truisms concerning marketing in the past, have been turned up side down. Getting ads out in huge numbers no longer a guarantees success. Ads are everywhere in our world now. They are constant and invasive. Online people are still spamming each other trying to get sign-ups for their company and making enemies along the way. Just think about how many ads you’ve seen and ignored already today. Offline if you need to buy a car and a pushy sales person starts in with their standard pitch for something you don’t even really want, you simply walk away. In online social sites, when pitches show up in your inbox, instead of walking away, you delete it. You may however want your day to go smoother with less wasted time deleting, and disassociate yourself from that spammer. Its simply time to stop spamming or lose the game.
If you think the term “Relationship Marketing” means you fake a personal relationship with someone until you can spam them as a fake friend you are mistaken. A real business relationship is just that, a relationship. Its not “grooming” someone as a prospect. Its not being nice to them until they soften to your pitches and buy from you. It means helping them in a very real way as you would anyone you know and like. It means asking them for help if you need it. Faking a business relationship is no different than marrying someone solely for their money. That’s not an intellectually honest or functionally sound way to carry on a relationship. This is especially true if you’re planning on working with this person in the future. True motives usually come out in a relationship.
Relationship marketing means changing your posture from, “here’s what I have for you” to “ what exactly do you need?” It does mean keeping in touch and helping out as best you can professionally. It the big picture, your place in your client’s life changes from a cost to a value. Building that relationship is largely like building any other relationship. Be there when you say you’re going to be there. Always try to deliver more than promised. Truly keep your client’s best interest in mind. Sure, you’re in business to make money, and sure advertising has its place. Remember, everyday when your clients and prospects are swimming through a sea of pitches and spam, you might just be the life-ring they can grab onto. Don’t push, just be trusted and in the room when help is needed.
As we said earlier, staying in touch and delivering valuable information is key in relationship marketing. A video email “thank you” can be a valuable tool. Its your face and voice delivering much needed information. Video Newsletters are becoming a well accepted part of business and a sign of sophistication. Talk Fusion can make all of that and available to you. Talk Fusion has nine online communication tools. Its also a great work from home, home based business.
