The Power of Words
It has been pointed out, if you want to compliment a woman, do not say “You are very
beautiful”. Say “You are beautiful”. Note how the adjective weakens the message.
Now, what if you want to compliment an IBO-er? Would you say “I like what you
wrote very much” or “Fabulous”.
If you get angry, do you resort to four letter words, or do you have a better command
of our language? My mother could let us know her displeasure without uttering a curse word.
How about thank you notes? I am guilty of writing "Thank You Very Much" when I could be
specific. "Your party was wonderful. Thank You inviting me."
Let us set an example for the internet world by writing our blogs with precision and
power.
