Why is reading important to your success?
Jim Rohn (1930-2009) is a legend in personal development. From humble beginnings, Jim became one of the world's truly great speakers and writers on the power of human potential. In this clip, Jim observes that we all need some mental nourishment, and we can get that by reading for 30-60 minutes a day.
When I was three years old, I couldn't wait to read on my own . One year I read every book in my grade school library. I have continued to read good books every day since then. A few pages
each day will work for you.
First, it stimulates the mind. Google reports ""Most estimates say we have about 100 billion brain cells (neurons), and about ten times that many, or one trillion, support cells (glia) that help the neurons."
We have yet to use 1/1000th of those cells.
Second, the best way to increase your vocabulary is just to read. Read, read and read.
Reading just automatically, painlessly and effortlessly improves your vocabulary.
Third, reading feeds the brain and creates new brain cells. Nurturing neuronal connections can protect your memory and help you stay mentally alert.
Fourth, reading self-improvement books is a key to maintaining the passion and motivation
necessary to achieve your goals. We are all motivated and inspired by something or someone.
Napoleon Hill's "Think and Grow Rich" has influenced a huge number of successful people, A page
or two a day will keep the bill collector away.
