What People Remember and What they Forget

Sometimes I feel like the world is becoming more and more unkind, colder and less friendly. My response to that is usually, How can I be kinder? How can I be softer? How can I be a blessing? It is always easier to complain about something than it is to actually DO something, to actually BE the change. So today, I ponder the words of the great poet, Maya Angelou and I think of my interactions so far this week and I think to myself, How did I make others feel? Not, what did I say but did I have an impact on their feelings....I am not sure. I know that I can be better and this quote can be a guidepost and a check-in to make sure that I am speaking with words that make a difference, that I am speaking with joy, with kindness and with love. We all have been given the ability to speak life, to speak fruit. I bet many of us can remember the things that we have said, but can we remember how we made OTHERS feel? I know that I can do better. Can you? What situations can you imagine where you can make people feel better or where you can be an uplifter?


As we start another week, let’s think about how we can contribute, how we can help, how we can be of service to others.
