Thank and Grow Rich: Day 14

“We start out knowing magic. We have shooting stars, cosmic universes, whirlwinds inside of us. But then it gets educated away; it gets sent to sit in the corner with the gerbil cage.” —Pam Grout

One way to create and continue in the whirlwind of good feelings and joy, is to spend a few minutes every day basking in the things that are going right in our lives. We spend so much time on “To-Do” lists that we forget to take some time to identify, recognize and enjoy all of the things that are actually going right. Just think about it, we wake up in the morning, then, we get up and out of our beds.  Our breathing is automatic, our eyes open and we lift with ease. Before, we even get a good start on our mornings, there are an innumerable amount of things that we can be thankful for.

Today is Day 14 of my “Thank and Grow Rich” journey. Everyday I share 3 different blessings as part of this experiment, so here goes:

1) Thankful for a great seminar that really spurred some creative writing from me yesterday!

2) Thankful for waking up with “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” stuck on my mind. It’s just a feel-good song and a great start for my day!

3) Thankful for singing in the morning. Although, others may not appreciate my singing or humming. It’s really a sign of a great day to come for me and it just feels good!

How about you? Please share at least one thing that you are thankful for today in the comments. You make the world a better place by emitting even the smallest whisper of joy!

This experiment and sharing is based on Pam Grout’s book, “Thank and Grow Rich: A 30-Day Experiment in Shameless Gratitude and Unabashed Joy.

“You say grace before meals. All right. But I say grace before the concert and the opera, and grace before the play and pantomime, and grace before I open a book, and grace before sketching, painting, swimming, fencing, boxing, walking, playing, dancing and grace before I dip the pen in the ink.” — G. K. Chesterton
