Goodness and Grace: Day 30 Thank and Grow Rich

Wow, I cannot believe today is day 30 of my reporting on my 30 days of gratitude challenge. It is actually Day 33!  A few days ago, I began to think about what I wanted to do next as the creating, writing and tweeting of this challenge had become embedded into my routine. I’ve decided to keep it going. I’m not sure if I’ll continue with the daily blog postings (here)  but I will still create the list and send out tweets (especially since this is officially National Gratitude Month—who knew??)

I hope that you have enjoyed these snippets of my life and I hope that they have inspired you to take a few minutes to acknowledge all of the good and all that is "going right" in your life!

Goodness and Grace:

1) I’m thankful for coconut tequila, which I tasted for the first time and it was surprisingly quite tasty. Nice!

2) I’m thankful for orders that you can pick up on the same day! Living near Target means that I can just pop on over, if I need something or even if I want to order something and have it waiting for me so I can get in and out of the store without distractions.

3) I’m thankful for the days when the sun seems to be playing hide and seek with me! It’s there and then, it’s not. I look up again, it’s there and then in a blink of an eye, it’s gone. Then, oh wait, it's back again. Too often as adults, we don't take much delight in simple things. I love being outside and nature so I tend to relish in light play, the changing colors of the seasons and the clouds and the sky.

Our days are filled with tons of things to be grateful for, if we would just take the time to notice. We are often too busy working, working on our lists, working at jobs, raising kids, debating politics, cleaning homes, cooking dinner, getting gas, on our smartphones, on social media and on and on and on. What would happen if we all just collectively stopped one or two times a day and just gave thanks, even if it’s just to acknowledge the beauty of a tree, the laughter of a child or the calmness of the wind? We all benefit when even one of us takes the time for quick and thoughtful reflection!

My experiment and these blog posts are based on a book called, "Thank and Grow Rich" by Pam Grout. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to experience more joy in their life.
