4 4 Keys of becoming a person of Influence!


I truly believe that every person was created to influence their world. As a matter of face influence is defined as the capacity to impact one’s environment, people, and circumstances. It’s also through presence, performance, personality and competence. I honestly think we become influential when these four attributes are developed in our and perceived in our lives.


Firstly, to me, influence is earned over time through the consistent, commitment and dedication to achieve a personal goal. It’s truly by the conviction, discipline or the cause at the expense of self-preservation. It is said to believe that it’s earned when people watch you for years investing and in refining yourself to be perfection. It’s like paying the price for what you believe in. 


For example Nelson Mandela was a lawyer in South Africa who fought against Apartied (the blacks were not treated equally as the whites) in his country. With this attitude, his convictions about his belief took him to jail for twenty seven long years.

After his jail term, Apartheid was history in South Africa. We all know now that his time in jail was not in vain. He had paid the ultimate the price for his influence. With that he is now very well respected around the world because he paid the price.

With that analogy, it simply reflect dedication and commitment to a specific goal to achieve or a specific discipline. The bottom line is that, you have to truly master something to gain influence.


Secondly, influence produces leadership. Leadership can be leaders in your field of expertise it could be selling homes, becoming a physician, an attorney, beauty consultant, or owning a company that does ecommerce, selling clothes.

It is whatever you are gifted at doing that will reflect on your personal success thus making you become a person of great influence.


Thirdly, the key to influence is value. You must position yourself to be valuable. In order to do this is that you sometimes have to become a person of value to others by serving, giving, spending time listening.

You have to seek to influence in your field of expertise or area of gifting. It’s the influence that attracts success. The more valuable you become, the more successful you will become. It’s obvious you will be an influential candidate.


Fourthly, to become influential, you must become a person of significance. You were created to dominate life but in an area of being exposed and to be ready to be dominant in the fore front.

You have to exercise your expertise of the area of excellence to have the attention. As a matter of fact, your willing ness is your key to your significance.

My conclusion is this, to become influential is that you have to be ready to be a solution to problems, a must have attribute to gain know, like and trust for people to connect and ready to follow you no matter what.


I do hope these 4 tips will help you to realize what it takes to be a person of Influence in a good way.
