Today I wanted to share some information from an associate of mine about Email Signatures. His name is Edwin Ingram and I think this is valuable information. Please see my reaction at the bottom, too.
"Your email signature is important, and if you exchange even a few emails every day, you must have a strong email signature. In a word, you will make people more aware of what you are doing. Not only that, it also helps you in branding because when you are exchanging emails, you are creating and strengthening relationships. By using the right email signature you can make a world of a difference to your online business. If you want to learn what to do and how to do it, then this discussion should interest you.
You have to decide if your emails are going to be HTML or not, and if so then take care. It is possible that some programs will cause formatting issues if you use HTML. If you really do want to use HTML, don't make it too elaborate or complicated which means keep it simple and to the point. This is one of those things where you have to go with what best fits your plan and what you want to do in your emails. If you really want to go all out, then make both available and let the readers decide.
Do your research because software changes over time, and it is possible that HTML format email bugs have been worked out. On another note, there are programs that are used much more by the majority of people. Not to beat a dead horse, but pretty much you do what you want to do. In the end you can only do so much, sometimes, so you end up doing the best you can. But make a list of the popular ones and at least test in those if not all.
When you are building out your email signature, the one thing above all that you want to have in there is the standard email address. You never know what will be helpful with people, and this is just a courtesy plus people expect to see it. It looks professional and reassuring to people when they see a fair amount of contact information in the email signature. You never know about people, and some just may write you a snail mail letter, so whatever works for them. Once you have your email signature all worked out, then it is done and you cruise on.
As we see from the above article, it doesn't take a lot to create an effective email signature. If you want your email signature to be powerful, then there is only one way to do that which is to learn. If you decide to do a little more with your signature, then you are taking certain risks. If you find that you do not understand something about this, then you need to hit the search engines and find out."
