A NEW life will require NEW habits

Here are frequently shared thoughts from clients on shifting our focus to create a more positive result with new habits.

"How do you disrupt a sudden negative thought? Doesn't it depend on your mood? If I'm moody due to lack of sleep or food, it's hard to focus."

With habit, it doesn't depend much on mood as the reaction is automatic. We can train ourselves with a variety of techniques using affirmations to shift attention and focus on goals rather than problems; on what is WANTED in a given situation rather than the difficulty. Until the response becomes a habit, more effort is involved. It is then easier to shift in the desired direction, from, say, anger to impatience.

Everything starts with a good attitude. A good attitude becomes a great mood, becomes a great day, becomes a great year, becomes a great life.
Get into a habit of saying nice things to people. Even people that say mean things to you.

Here is one easy way to train yourself in the new habit: Formulate the affirmation desired and place a white spot on your cell-phone to remind you of it each time you look at the screen. Spend a few seconds just focusing on the affirmation. That technique works very well. Pinky swear!
