The Love and Gratitude of Mountain Living

There are no words to describe these moments.
Bliss. Nirvana. Heaven on Earth. Freedom. All are just words. This was something else.

Take a moment to consider this:
"An adventure is only an inconvenience rightly considered
An inconvenience is only an adventure wrongly considered."
 -- G.K. Chesterton

I love being up in the mountains.
I love feeling nature's pulse, revealing her gifts.
Sometimes,I would like to give her something in return. They say people get happier when they are grateful, so maybe the best thing I can give her is my gratefulness. In this manner, I guess
The exchange goes both ways.
I love meeting the elements, because they help me to see my real self and when that happens, I feel alive!
Things change
I am not out there any more to find perfection
Now it's just about going out into the mountains
because I have realized, it is the best way for me to spend my precious time on Earth.
Out there, my friends are also revealing their true selves
and while sharing nature's magic, our friendships deepen.
Life
seems to search for an excuse to shine through everything
through my friends, the mountains, nature, my skis, our animal companions, the sky, the plants, the big and small actions between people and every day life.
I love the beauty and the peace that I find up here amongst the clouds.
I mean, who can feel untouched by a magnificent sunset?

"Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky." -- Rabindranath Tagore

I love being in the mountains, also because they force me to learn the lessons I need to learn. If I refuse to read the signs to listen
to feel
and to be humble
I will pay the price.
Sometimes I have refused to learn, but those times, I have had to pay for it., and in many different ways.
But, I have also done my homework.
I have been open
Kept on trying and learning
and then sometimes, maybe a couple of times a year, when blessed
the great one has opened them self up to us.
These times
no words
can capture the experience.
But this is not only about escaping reality, it is also about diving straight through it.

“And I want to rock your gypsy soul
Just like way back in the days of old
And magnificently we will fold
into the mystic”
? Van Morrison

I feel grateful to experience the ups as well as the downs and to learn from mother nature every day.
year after year
as long as she will let me.
For me
The Secret
is to be with her, and like with any real relationship, I have to stay open and choose to love every day.
On the good days, we enjoy the perfection of creation
and on the hard days...
Well, it is hard, but through obscurity, doubt and hardship
seeds of wisdom slowly appear.
Life matures, and death comes to things and joy of existence, only grows stronger.

"Who will tell whether one happy moment of love or the joy of breathing or walking on a bright morning and smelling the fresh air, is not worth all the suffering and effort which life implies."

 -- Erich Fromm

I am grateful for another year in the mountains.
The big and the small adventures lived, and everything that is yet to come.
Being grateful makes you happier and we have so much to be grateful for, spending our time in the mountains.
Trying, trying, trying and...failing sometimes, but also reaping the rewards in different parts of the game.
More than that- enjoying every day spent among the mountains, the clouds and fresh air, its purest form! Life can be as simple as
just that.
