Make every morning, a great morning!

Most people fall into the category of night owl or early bird. Regardless of your preferences or when you actually pop out of bed, here are some tips to create a great morning everyday!

When you arise in the morning...think of what a precious privilege
it is to be alive, to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love

1. Organize the night before.
Before you head to bed, jot down a quick to-do list. It doesn’t have to be all-inclusive. Just put your thoughts in order and lay out what you need to accomplish. That way, you won’t have all your responsibilities running through your brain when you try to count sheep at night or as you’re scrambling to get out the door in the morning.

2. Start with exercise.
Researchers at the University of Bristol found that people who exercise during the workday have more energy and a more positive outlook, which are both critical to getting things done. Getting your body moving for as little as 10 minutes releases GABA, a neurotransmitter that makes your brain feel soothed and keeps you in control of your impulses. Exercising first thing in the morning ensures that you’ll have the time for it, and it improves your self-control and energy levels all day long.

3. Don't get caught up in small decisions.
Successful people don’t waste time on small decisions, like what to have for lunch or wear every morning. Steve Jobs popularized this with his black turtleneck, and former President Obama would wear one of two colors of suits every day. Having fewer small decisions to make then makes it easier to focus on the big decisions.
