Ways To Quit Smoking Cigarettes

Many people may think that quitting smoking is easy, but the truth is most smokers have been hooked on tobacco for more than 10 years and it isn’t as easy as it seems.  To quit smoking is no joke, it has become a part of your daily habit and has turned your body in to nicotine hungry machine.

The reality about quitting smoking is that it can be as difficult as trying to recover from any drug problem,
since nicotine is far more addictive than other well known illegal drugs.

The first rule in how to quit smoking cigarettes is to accept the fact that quitting smoking is difficult. You
must first admit that quitting is no easy task and that it will take a great deal of determination and self control. By psyching your mind that you will be going through a tough time is like giving your mind a heads up so your body doesn’t experience shock when you are in the process of quitting.

There are a myriad of ways to quit smoking cigarettes but the best and so far most effective way is to do it cold turkey.  Stopping the habit and then taking care of the symptoms afterwards is a very efficient way to rid yourself of this habit.  Just make sure that you can back it up with dedication and self control.

Allot of people have tried to quit and failed because they did not follow a plan, this is what you must avoid at  all costs.

Once you get past the first couple of days however you can manage it, you will see that your cravings are going to start becoming less and less, because your body is ridding itself of the nicotine that it was once addicted to, and you are getting healthy again and are not going to be craving the cigarettes anymore.

Now if you are not able to manage it this way, there are other options available to you. For one, you could try one of the many stop smoking aids that are available which have proven to work quite well such as the patch. Or, you might want to try an approach using alternative medicine such as hypnosis to help you quit smoking.

I have posted on my website many different options you might try.
