Creating Information Products & Becoming An Expert - The Keys to Branding YOU!

In a previous message we talked about the basics of setting up your website and we touched on the need to create and offer FREE information products on your individual

We also stressed the importance of creating these information products in video if at
all possible to improve your website's rankings in the search engines.

Today we will explore creating information products- and becoming an expert in your
area-in more detail.

Most people think they aren't an "expert" or don't have any information worth sharing
with the public.

But this couldn't be further from the truth.

While your content needs to be original, the ideas presented in your content don't.

Every day we are continually learning new things from various sources, and that information can be put into your own words and presentation and used to create a very effective information product.

And as we discussed before, Internet surfers are continually looking for information on the information highway.

When they find the information they seek on your website, they will begin to know, like, and trust you. 

The information product you develop should be original.

In other words, don't copy what someone else has done.  Package the information you provide in your own unique way.

It should also be VALUABLE and RELEVANT to whatever keyword search brought those web visitors to your website in the first place.

It must also COMPLEMENT or ENHANCE the products or services you are selling.

For instance, if your product is health supplements like Vitamin C, Calcium, and others, your information products could be focused on the benefits of these components-but not on selling your product.

A sample ebook or video might talk about how Vitamin C helps strengthen the immune system, how much each person needs per day to be healthy, and what foods are the  most rich in Vitamin C.

It could briefly state that Vitamin C supplements can also be taken if an individual does not get enough in his or her normal diet, but it should NOT sell your supplements.

At the end of your information product, you want to redirect viewers or readers back to your website where there are other informational products that may be of interest or to your blog.

Again, do not be tempted to jump in at this opportunity and to give a sales pitch.

This is a critical and defining moment-and your self-control at this point will give you
a competitive edge later.

As a sidenote, some people also charge for their information products and can generate a good income from these sales.

However, if your ultimate goal is to sell a product or get an associate to join your downline, these information products are more of a tool to get the desired result.

You'll have to decide what is best for you in this regard.

If you are giving away your information product  for FREE, don't be afraid to offer it to other websites, online publications, or excerpt from  it for online publications, as well.

This will provide you with additional exposure to more potential clients or associates.

And it really enhances your image as an expert in your area.

Plus, it will generate more hits and web traffic if someone does an online search on your name in the future.

Just don't allow anyone to change the content or switch your name out for theirs!

It is also beneficial to write separate articles about your topic and submit them to both online and offline publications or online article directories.

Again, this enhances your position as an expert, adds credibility for you, and will drive
additional traffic to your website.

You can often repackage the same information in multiple ways for different venues very effectively.

But don't quit with creating just one information product.

Try creating information products for each product or service you ultimately want to sell.

You can even create more than one that is applicable to each!
