My Journey in Network Marketing.....
I have seen many people come and go in the 44 years I have been in the industry. Here's what I have observed: if you don't quit, you will succeed. To me, succeeding at network marketing is like competing in a marathon. You don't stop until you reach the finish line. I believe you have to do whatever it takes to make things happen. You must believe in yourself and make it a point to capture your dreams.
When I first got started I was having some doubt about my ability to make this happen. I decided to do whatever was necessary to meet my goals. I got some outside coaching, and I read and listened to a lot of successful people. I started to do things differently. As a result of my efforts, my business increased dramatically. Because of my success, I got a call from a distributor who was not in my organization asking me to conduct a training session for her group. I was so honored! I knew at this point that I was on my way. I did the training and got raving reviews.
Everyone wants a magic bullet or guaranteed formula for success - but there is no such thing. The essence of my training is that you first have to believe in yourself to gain the confidence of others. You have to find your own answers and specific solutions to fit your unique gifts. You also have to make an effort to overcome your weaknesses.
One of the biggest skills I needed to develop was learning how to really listen to people and understand what they wanted. If you are willing to be a good listener, people will tell you what they need. Focus on who you're talking to and meet their needs - not your own. If someone isn't a good fit for the business, it's pointless to try and hard sell and convince them otherwise.
Personal growth and development of leadership skills are paramount to succeeding in the network marketing business. Leaders provide the main key to a duplicating organization. It is the result that you duplicate, not the individuals. If you aren't dedicated to becoming a leader - and paying the price to becoming a great leader - you are in the wrong business.
Network marketing is about building relationships. Take the long-term view. You must create a climate where potential leaders can flourish. Start with yourself and then create the right atmosphere that allows potential leaders to bloom and grow. Have your potential leaders do what you are doing - replicating results.
If you stop growing, you stop learning and lose your ability to lead. Share your knowledge with everyone you bring in and anyone else who wants to learn and develop. Nothing is more satisfying than helping other people reach their goals!
