The Cycle Of Life In The Stillness Of My Mind

I awoke to the quiet of the wee hours of the morning and a thought that has been recurring over the past weeks, seeped into my mind and I ponder about The Cycle of Life.

As I lay quietly I thought about  growing up as a child through to adulthood  and  I can recall vividly what my parents looked like throughout the different stages of their lives it is imprinted as a collage in the stillness of my mind.

I recall when I got to the different stages they were at. Can you recall similar stages of your lives?  As you started your own family; isn't it strange how you begin to feel and understand what they may have felt with a family to care for? And then it hits you. You are becoming your parents and the cycles start all over again.

I lost my dad when he was 87, my aunt also at 87 and my mom when she was 89.  Longevity you may say runs in the family.  Understanding and having a greater appreciation for certain preventative self care plays a great role in the quality of life we lead to continue this cycle of life.

We do things that keep our minds occupied. We listen to your bodies. Yes, some of us do, our bodies speak to us you know! How much we listen is the key and what we do about what we learn is taking charge.

I recall when my mom was about my age and I would visit from overseas. I put arrangements with the help and suggestion of my dear friend, for her to be given a massage with some regularity, to relieve the stiffness and aches. I also would walk her through gentle exercises to build and maintain her strength.  Now that I am at the tender age of 3 scores +  (lol) I have a better understanding that doing these things on her own, especially if it was not a habit would have been difficult for her. The saying "he who feels it knows it" comes to mind. I have a different mind set.

Well, I was used to walking from an earlier age for an hour in the mornings and then exercising for an hour. I just couldn't start my day without walking. It just didn't feel right. This means that recognizing the health benefits it is easier for me to create some form of regime though far less than I was used to -and I am fully occupied.

So with a back problem I occasionally get acupuncture treatment with exercises from a qualified doctor.  Now I just maintain the exercises.

Taking a lesson from what happened to my mom what do I do?

  •  Before leaving for my walk in the mornings I lie on my back and do my strengthening exercises in bed while my body is still warm.

  • I would stand and stretch a few times locking my fingers above my head,  with arms straight up, taking a deep breath and leaning backwards - legs straight and then slowly coming forward while exhaling touch the floor, fingers still locked and facing downwards. Do this about 3 times.

  • The next step is planking. So far I am only doing this one type.

I initially started at a count to 20 now I can do to a count of 60.  The important thing is to start. I assure you that as you strengthen your core you will find yourself staying longer in that position. I then go walking.

This cycle of life is like internet marketing. You watch yourself grow by learning from others. As you learn you apply, strengthening your knowledge base. The occupation of our minds as we learn and apply is the key to our mindset and the path we are traveling to succeed

Setting up your regime and following through is important in whatever you do.  Planning on making a living on the internet? Then don't rush it. Learn it and share what you learn. Help others to understand what you do and continue the cycle of life, of mentoring and of learning, the rest will follow as night follows day but not without the work! You have to put in the time.
