Network Marketing Vs Affiliate Marketing

What is the difference  between Network marketing and Affiliate marketing?

There are similarities between the two as in both cases you are selling other people's products (or your own)...but network marketing  is long term  providing low, mid to high commissions and as you sell,  and upsell  building other people's products you are leveraging your team's effort, earning off of your entire network.

In Network marketing you learn to build relationships on which your business will thrive as people get to know like and trust you. This is how you build your networking list. And by the way, building the list which you own, you can also, over time promote your affiliate program after building that relationship of know, like, and trust, to that list.

 

 

The Richest people in the world look for and build networks

 

In Affiliate marketing you get high commissions selling other people's product ( similar to network marketing) but your income is capped by your level of production. Like in Network marketing you  research and promote the product.   You do not have to deliver and you get a percentage of the sale but there is no leveraging. You make a sale, you get a percentage of the sale as your commission and that's it! This is what I mean by capping your level of production. The more sales you produce the more commission you get ...no sales, no commissions, as against network marketing's leveraged position from team members that go deep. 

You will get as much as 75% of the product sales in Affiliate marketing but there is little or no leverage.

Think of it like a sales person who sells a range of  physical products offline. In order for that person to earn a decent  living from his efforts he has to aim to sell a lot of products to get paid a decent commission at an agreed percentage. So, if for argument sake he sells pharmaceuticals or cosmetics for a particular company, to get paid at the end of the week/month, commission on which he can survive he must meet his quota of sales for that period. And he goes through the same grind every week/month except, in the physical sense he would have built a relationship with  the Store or Pharmacy owners, maintaining a high level of communication.  

 

His only leverage therefore is to sell more of the same to the company, Store of Pharmacy owners  with whom he has built a good relationship.

There are savvy affiliate marketers who have mastered the art of Affiliate marketing promotion  and have made hundreds of thousands  of dollars online from some very reputable global retail marketing companies.

In both Network marketing and Affiliate marketing the rule of thumb is to study your market, your product. In other words do your due diligence, and if you are beginning a business... new to network or affiliate marketing, do not expect to become rich overnight. You have to research whatever niche you choose, and there are many.   Invest in your learning then teach what you learn and help others.
