There are certain elements that are crucial to marketing and are important to how you do business. These elements to which I refer are:


Let's first take a look at the crucial elements of marketing. 


In marketing terms, product refers to identifying, selecting and developing a service or goods to be sold to customers.

To identify a good product/s that will sell, as a business owner and manager you must learn to see your product from the point of view of your customer. This means taking into consideration the planned or current product's ability to meet your target market's needs and wants. It is also important that you look at available competing products in the marketplace.

To be successful at this, as a business owner/manager you have to develop the skill of putting yourself in someone else's shoes to make an informed and objective choice on what product you might be able to effectively sell. In other words be a product of the product.

Savvy marketers often purchase products they are promoting, study the product and observe what is working, if it is working, then model Not Copy what the product owner is doing. By doing this you are able to scope out and analyze the competition. Duplicating a product being sold by a competitor for a similar or better price is a sure way to ensure your own product fails.

Anyone marketing their product needs to optimize their potential sales. Offering your product with better quality, prices, or convenience (delivery) can be vital in ensuring that you overtake your competition, instead of the other way around.

Price in this case refers to the value at which you sell your services or goods.

Price is probably the most important, most competitive feature of your services and products.
Many businesses compete for customers by lowering their prices. Yet there are situations when it is perfectly acceptable to raise your price, even recommended.

If your business is in a competitive industry you will want to, as a marketing strategy, keep the price of your products or services low.
On the other hand if your business is in an industry with little or no competition, you may enjoy the luxury of increasing the price of your goods or services. Bear in mind though, that your products and services shouldn't just be about the monetary value, but rather consider the overall value, which includes some flexible and easy payment terms and giveaways.

Everyone loves discount, so providing you ensure you charge enough to make a healthy profit, your clients will be very excited and more readily purchase, if you mark down to lower your price. This raises the odds in your favour.


Promotion is the activity of formulating strategies and implementing them to make people aware of your products and services.

Promotion then is the many ways you can tell your current and prospective buyers about your products and services.

Regardless of the size and scope making promotional changes can significantly affect the level of your sales. This is where split testing comes in. An experienced ad copywriter, or you can significantly influence or affect a product or service's sale by changing one or two words in the headline of your advertisements.

As a business owner you should be experimenting with this regularly to see how your products or services perform.
Small changes well applied can cause prospective customers to notice your business above others.

In promoting, your focus, your target markets for your products or services, should be on every smartphone, tablet and computer in the world that's connected to the Internet. With the Internet being a world wide experience it allows your business to reach customers in a whole new world of possibilities.
