How Do You Remain Calm When Under Pressure

When you can cultivate a clear mind, you remain calm under pressure.


What do you do when things or happenings around you  disturb your calm, your very soul?

Do you have the ability to remain calm? Are you in control of your emotions? How do you deal with these disturbances.

Sometimes when you sit around with friends and you do not get involved in their comments for reasons you may decide is best, they think something is wrong with you. but you may simply be  listening. They may say: "Don't you have something to say?"  You say something that is different from their way of thinking and they think you are weird.  Yet they are well meaning, and it is clear their thought pattern is different from yours.

You see what people do not understand or appreciate is that based on our exposure and experience we bring a different view or opinion to an argument or discussion as a thinking person.

There is no point arguing with those who would not listen but are bent on proving how right they are, and why they are "right". Of course it doesn't stop there! Some of these persons will be heard repeating and discussing how weird you are... and for what? Having a different view on life and from different perspectives. 

Admittedly hearing your comments repeated (when you are not supposed to have heard it) in a not nice way can be disconcerting and a little embarrassing.

When that happens it brings into question the matter of trust and regardless of how forgiving a person you are you find yourself distrusting that person guilty of the act.
And within us should always be that peace which is forever listening and is open minded.

Growing up I learned from my father the importance of being quiet and being at peace with me.

I find that when I am troubled I can draw from my well of calm, and go to my quiet place inside.

So hold on to your Calm, your Quiet, your Peace....stay in control and use them to guide your way.  Let them be your favorite garment through which you can smile and think you are alright.
You can learn to be calm through 
Going for long Walks:
  • My favourite exercise that isvery much underated. When you walk, after a few minutes you find you become calmer and think mor clearly.

Saying to yourself: How bad could it be?

  • The chances are that things could be much worse. So when you are stressed about something, think that it could have been ,much worse. You will find comfort in the thought and can remain calm.

Giving thanks

  • Think about all the things you can be thankful for, knowing that you are blessed. Think of all the things that are right in your life. Be grateful and give thanks.

Choose to be calm

  • Make your affirmation be...I choose calm, I choose to be peaceful in all this, whatever this is. Like a mantra feel it and believe it.

Breathing technique

  • This can be developed through certain types of yoga exercise or meditation. When you are upset or feel stressed out,just breathe deeply.

I give thanks for today I am calm, I am quiet and I feel at peace.  and would like to share my calm, quiet and peace with you.
