Is Prosperity Your Attitude Towards Your Life?

Is Prosperity your attitude towards life is motivated by a book presented to me over 20 years ago. Spiritual Economics - the prosperity process written by Eric Butterworth.

I am just in the introduction of this book but what I have read so far has triggered my own thought pattern. I shall throughout this post refer to quotes from "Spiritual Economics" which the author refers to as "an idea whose time has come in your life."

The author speaks about the possibility of you being hung up on the age-old confusion of godliness with poverty.

First: What is Prosperity versus Poverty?

The word "prosperity" comes from the Latin root which literally translates: "according to hope," or "to go forward hopefully."

This then means that it is not so much a condition in life but rather an attitude towards life.
In other words, in the broadest of sense prosperity is 'spiritual well-being" involving the whole of life's experience.

"Prosperity is a way of living and thinking, and not just money or things."

"Poverty is a way of living and thinking and not a lack of money or things."

"This involves the whole experience of healing life, satisfying love, abiding peace and harmony, as well as a sufficiency of what Aristotle called the furniture of fortune."

When you think about the above statements it makes you take a serious look on how you define poverty which is not just about money or lack thereof. It is about being poor in spirit, in thought and in action. The preoccupation with jobs, and financial status make you forget that you are a whole creature in a whole Universe and you are an integral part thereof. There is a conscious truth that sets you free from all the problems of human experience. Understanding that Your attitude towards all of this is what is important.

Too often it becomes our belief, as is explained, that our lives are conditioned and shaped by what is taking place around us. It is not what is happening external to us but our consciousness of what we do or think about what is happening. Where we are focused.

As I read I am reminded of parts of books like "Think and Grow" Rich by Napoleon Hill and "The Science of Getting Rich" by Wallace D Wattles. And I am sure you can think of other authors who though in some cases states it diffently, have carried the same message

Talk and think only about the things you want to see live and grow and breathe, centering your thoughts in the idea of abundance, sufficiency, and well-being. Make a conscious effort to boost yourself through affirmation: "God is my instant, constant, and abundant source of supply." This is where your prosperity lives.

So where do you begin?

You begin by realizing life is lived from the inside out. In other words it is not what is happening out there but rather what we do, think and act upon what happens.

Your prosperity then is to accept the responsibility for your own thoughts, not the thoughts or others, thereby taking charge of your life, understanding that it is not about what is being said, but what you do and think about what is said. This attitude will determine your experience.

Thoughts you may harbour ....I can't, should be replaced with Yes, I can... I am afraid, must be removed from your consciousness. Find your quiet place and think about the fact that you are surrounded by a divine presence which is good, and wants you to succeed, because you are expressing its life in your being.

Thank you for taking the time to read and keep looking for part 2 of: Is Prosperity your attitude towards your life?
