The Rocking Chair Therapy Or Kinetic Therapy

Published on 6/5/2019
For additional information  Click Here

The Rocking Chair Therapy is inspired by my associate Bobby Brown, whose article is worth reading.

The fact that not only am I never without a rocking chair but almost daily when I am not working at my desk of doing chores I find it to be a seat of relaxation.

"A rocking chair or rocker is a type of chair with two curved bands (also known as rockers) attached to the bottom of the legs, connecting the legs on each side to each other. The rockers contact the floor at only two points, giving the occupant the ability to rock back and forth by shifting their weight or pushing lightly with their feet. Rocking chairs are most commonly made of wood."

Never without a rocker my latest, now 9 years old was made from the roots of a tree in Guyana, where I lived for many years, and looks alittle like the ones in the image above. The roots of the tree goes through a heating process and formed into the design. For extra comfort you may also use a cushion.

These rockers are made from a variety of materials and can vary in size according to your specification. Although I believe them to be mostly of standard size.

Popular with mothers who often rock their kids to sleep in then, often dozing off themselves. There is also the wooden rocking horse which toddlers love.

Studies have shown the various health benefits of a rocker as mentioned in my associate's press release.

I would however like to add that you may have observe that people with mental health issues often get into a gentle rocking motion while standing.

According to Dr. Heinrich Addleheim of the Kinetic Therapy Clinic in Berlin, Germany, the   Rocking Chair Therapy An apple a day the rocking chair way“We’ve seen cases of patients recuperating from heart attack and stroke – without any trace of permanent damage – simply because they used a rocking chair while they were recovering. I’ve seen people bedridden with arthritis who were up and around inside a week after regular use of rocking chair. . . it’s not just a piece of furniture; it’s a remarkable medical device.”

There has been a lot of work done in the study of the rocking chair and its alround effect on your mental health, relaxation, improve strength and flexibility.  A mild form of exercise it's a winner and possibly the best form of rocking chair therapy to enhance your mood and general wellbeing.  It has also shown that the positive impact of the rocking motion ranges from  arthritic knees, dementia, backache, to heart attack and stroke. Who would have thought!

Some people, not used to sitting in a rocking chair refuse to use it because they fear falling. You won't!

Having lived with the rocking chair therapy for most of my years I would certainly suggest that you get one and give it a try.

Studies done at the Medical College of Virginia suggests that the gentle and constant rocking motion can speed up the healing process, referred to as Kinetic therapy.  It is suggesting that rocking chair is not just a piece of furniture, but rather a remarkable medical device which when used  regularly shows excellent results in recuperation from various illnesses.

Are you getting the idea yet that you should own a rocking chair and 'rock on'?

Your thoughts are greatly appreciated. Please comment.

 Happy and healthy rocking
