As part of my online advertising I use Traffic exchanges.
I am a power surfer and surf multiple site at the same time. when I see something of interest I bookmark the page and go back to it when I am done surfing. Anything that interrupts the power surfing process is an extreme annoyance to me.
Lately I have noticed that there are more and more sites that won't let you leave their site. When you click the next button you get an annoying popup asking you if you are sure you want to leave. YES I WANT TO LEAVE!!!! If I didn't I would not have hit the next button.
Popup blocker are ineffective against these annoying popups
ClickBank vendors seem to be some of the worst violators. I have had to click as many as SEVEN, let me repeat, SEVEN times to got off a ClickBank ad. Makes me want to tear my hair out!
Get a clue! I will NEVER buy your product and as a ClickBank affiliate I will not promote your product to others! I don't care how awesome the product is. Your marketing tactics are extremely annoying. They are like the door-to-door salesman that won't leave unless you threaten to call the police.
If you are as annoyed as I am by these intrusive tactics, get on board with me to try stopping this annoying practice.
1. I am going to start making a list of the pages that won't let me leave.
2. Then I will start reporting them to support at the various traffic exchanges I use. If enough people complain these sites will ban this type of advertising.
3. I am making a list of ClickBank Products that won't let me leave and contact support and the vendor if possible.
4. I will do my best to not promote these type of sites.
I use the Firefox browser. If anyone knows of an add-on that will block these popups please let me know.
That is the end of my rant for now. Don't even get me started on all the pages that talk to you. I just turn off the sound and surf in peace and harmony.
