website marketing

If you have a web site it is important to use that same keyword in the title text of any link that goes to your site, like this: Free Internet Marketing Tips, as well as placing the same keyword (or phrase) in the the alt tag of that link. A good description as part of that link aids in categorizing the page and adds value to the link, as well as producing some traffic from the link itself. The more links you have designed this way, the better your chance of getting that keyword listed high in the search engines. However, do not use the same keyword in all your links. It is better to use different keywords (using the 2-3 keywords you are targeting for each landing page of your web site that you want links to go.

Although Google says that it doesn't like links that are created just to improve PR of a web site, as long as the link is on a page that is in the same category theme as your web site, it is counted as a good link. Link farms (pages that link do all kinds of different categories) should be avoided. I personally don't think that the only value they have is the value of any traffic that might be generated by that specific link. As long as there isn't too many links on a page, there is a good chance that you can get targeted traffic from that link.
