Why Branding Yourself Is The Last Thing You Should Be Doing. We're exposed to all kinds of ideas about what we should be doing in our businesses. Some ideas are good and some not so good. Some will make you money and with others you will lose money. One of the worst and most dangerous of these ideas is the idea of branding yourself first. Everyone talks about making a name for themselves and the importance of getting known as something special and unique. You are constantly told that you need to stand out from the crowd. It isn't a good idea to follow that advice at the launch of your business. The idea of starting a business and then going out and spending thousands of dollars to create an image around it is not a good one at the beginning. You create fancy packaging with ribbons and bows and and expensive business cards with the name of your business and deck the shelves with frills. All that type of stuff, and for what? You do it because it makes you feel like you're doing something. It builds the dream that one day you will succeed. Maybe you will, but you forgot something. Does anyone actually want that fancy stuff? When asked how you are going to sell your products you show all the fancy stuff. But do you have a plan or system to sell your products? You've spent your time, energy, and a lot of money to create an image around something don't even know will sell in the market. First rule in business is to do some research and find out if people actually need and want your products. If people want what you have to offer, then you can start selling it. Online, your business will grow faster if you get traffic, leads, recruits, and duplicate. Far faster than if you try to build an image, branding yourself as something special. In fact you'd get better results if you just copied what others where doing. Copy, Copy, Copy. Copy what other successful people are doing. If you need leads find a way to get them. if you need people find a way to recruit. If you need duplication find a way to train your people. If you need a system find a way to get a system. Copy, Copy, Copy what other successful people are doing. Only after you've done that right and you're making sales and you're making money do you start thinking about an image. Food for thought. To your success. Elvis was here.
