Juicing Is Healthy Nutrition For Senior Citizens

There is great concern amount seniors, their families and or caregivers about nutrition.
With so much conflicting information every where you turn. Seniors themselves can get concerned about their changing appetites and eating habits.

Seniors can develop a weakened and distorted sense of taste which can cause a loss of appetite which will lead to poor nutrition and weight loss.

When seniors develop a desire for certain types of food like salty or sweets that can lead to unwanted weight gain.

If you have been around any length of time you know about the Nutritional shakes and supplements that is marketed as a high calorie solution for seniors that are not eating.

So Seniors are given these shakes without checking into  what could be some  underlying conditions like depression, dementia maybe ulcers, or could be just loose fitting dentures the reason they are not eating.

If There are no logical problems why the senior is not eating you can get good nutrition into their bodies by juicing their fruits and vegetables.

It can play a big roll in maintaining and restoring seniors health.
With juicing the amount of minerals ad vitamins is concentrated and can be consumed without huge amount.

This is very important for seniors with a suppressed appetite.
Whether in a care giving situation, or living alone, juicing is easy
and only takes a few minutes.

 The best way to consume juiced items is
on an empty stomach. Juicing in the morning and evening an hour
before meals insures that the full content of nutrients will be absorbed.
 Remember when introducing any new food product, it is best
to start simple and add more ingredients later.
consistency is a huge factor too.

 Some juicing can result in a thin drink, others
very thick.  Variety is nice, but consider your preferences or the
preferences of those that will receive the juicing.

Another idea is to prepare enough juicing to last the whole day.
Refrigerate immediately any leftover juice and be sure to consume it within 24 hours.

The juices start to loose their peak of freshness
and nutritional ‘powers’ rapidly.
 Keep in mind that fruit juice is high in natural sugars.  It is always wise to consult your physician before making any radical diet changes of any kind
