Quantity or Quality Friends?

‘Our Greatest Joy comes in our Relationship with others’ Very recently I was going through my friend list on the various Social Network Sites and while browsing discovered names and faces which looked totally unfamiliar. That got me thinking, if they looked unfamiliar then why are they on my friend list? Well we all tend to send out friend requests and once they are accepted we seem to lose touch with most of them. They become just a number on our list. Haven’t we heard of building relationships and bonding? Yes indeed we have, but sometimes we fall prey to the numbers game, quantity of friends more than quality. Most of us are in the Internet and Network Business and the foundation of our business is leads and who can make a better lead than friends sitting in our own backyard. The following quote drives home my point: A friendship can weather most things and thrive in thin soil; but it needs a little much of letters and phone calls and small, silly presents every so often - just to save it from drying out completely. Pam Brown I think as far as our friend lists goes all it needs is a polite hello message now and then to create a bond, in due course it will strengthen. The worst thing that a few people do is contact friends only when they need something, this just displays their selfishness. I personally loathe such people and try my best to avoid any contact with them. This act of theirs is an insult to any form of friendship. It is only by building our friend list and keeping in regular touch will we be fortunate to meet some good people who can leave and have a lasting impression in our lives. No point in having thousands on our list if we don’t even know who they are? They just become a number on our list. I would rather have a close rapport with 500 than having 5000 with no links at all. Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never, ever the same.—Anonymous
