The Holiday Outing I Wasn't Expecting. Are You Surrounded by Good People?

Let us not forget the true meaning of the Christmas Season.  Today, while my husband and I were out, we noticed a gentle standing near his vehicle with two children standing with him.  What caught my attention was his sign that said, "Need money for rent, food, and pampers." My heart sank, and I blurted out that we need to get at least the pampers.  My husband turned the car around and we drow next to the gentleman. I asked what size diapers he required, and without hesitation, he provided the size. I told him I'd be back and that sparked a conversation if he believed we'd come again, how many people may have told him the same thing and didn't return, and what were his thoughts and feelings about us?  My heart was very heavy as I don't want to see others struggle anytime of the year, but especially not Christmas. We quickly drove to Costco to pick up the pampers -- I was in shock at the price as I hadn't purchased pampers in 25 years, lol. I quickly got over it. God laid on my heart to pick up a few extra food items as well. I had discernment that the gentleman was truthful although I wasn't willing to give money. I had prepared myself that he would reject our kindness as well. While in the store I became very emotional, holding my head back fanning the tears so they wouldn't drop; all I could think is what if that were my family? After filling the basket, we went to checkout line to pay for items I'd hope would at least provide comfort even if for only a couple of days. We hurried to load the car and make it back before they had gone. Maneuvering through the full Walmart parking lot he was still there. We pulled next to the battered van and I introduced myself to the man & his wife who were of middle eastern decent. I asked them to come to my vehicle and receive some of the items they requested on the sign. He immediately began to bless my husband and me, so humbled and grateful that we acknowledged their existence. As they were rearranging items in their van, it was then I realized the family was living in the van. At that moment, I asked God to please send angle to watch over their safety. I know that I am only one person, but if I can extend my light to other people in the time of need to bring a little joy to their lives if just for a moment in time, I AM GRATEFUL.  So, I leave the below to you. What you do personally will spill over professionally in one's business on the path to abundant success.

Good people need Good people Scripture: Join the company of good men and women; keep your feet on the tried and true paths. Proverbs 2:20 Reflection: If you have not figured it out yet successful people, truly successful people surround themselves with people that make them better. Think of yourself in a boat in a raging storm in the middle of the ocean. You are thrown overboard by a huge wave. The people on the ship lower the anchor on top of you. They claim that it was to allow you something to climb back aboard the boat but obviously, when they lowered it on top of you it defeated the purpose. This is the way negative people affect your life. They cause you more harm than good. Now imagine yourself in the same situation and some of those in the boat jump in the water with you with a safety vest while others throw you a raft, and they help you back onto the boat. Challenge your self-centered thoughts with the idea that God works through other people to reach us. Build a strong team around you of other people who share your values and will be there for you in the storm.
