If I had to answer this question for you, I would say no. Not to worry though, I don't have control of everything in my life either. Truth be told I do not think that anyone has control over anything except themselves. Let me tell you how I came to this conclusion. I was a supervisor of security at point in life. I was in charge of some fifty or so guards, their scheduling, their disciplines, their firing and their hiring. I answered to my boss who was the liaison to the contract owners and I also answered to the contract owner of which there were a lot. So here is the list of the things that I was in control but wasn't really. The guards who had minds of their and opinions of their own and would share said opinion when you least expect or when your expecting it and you told it inside until you could find a solution. Nope control there. Schedules. Nope no control there because just when you figured you had it set. Someone wanted time off or and this was a big one the guards called in sick. Same way basically for the hiring, firing, disciplining and uniforms and what ever else was handed down to you from the contractors.
Then we the boss and we have the contractors who believe they are in control, but are they really. I mean I think we could take this control issue to the president or the queen or the leader of a dictatorship. Does any one really have control or is just an illusion? I am pretty sure that control is just an illusion. People have free will and they will do what they want, when they want. Machinery breaks down and that is never happening when we want it too. Then there is the weather. Sure weathermen can predict to some degree of accuracy, but there is always a chance that mother nature will throw a curve ball. So my conclusion is and keep in mind this is just my opinion, we only have control of ourselves. You may convince other people you have control but sooner or later something will happen that is out of your control and you find out just how much control you had.
Chances are you didn't have as much as you thought you did. So don't think you can control your computer or anything in your house. Back up your computer files online

| | | | | Nice article, I don't worry about what I can't control and you can control very little except for your own actions. |
| | | | | Very interesting blog and it makes you think. You are right. Who really is in control? The small things can upset a big plan if you let them. Nice to meet another Canadian and wish you well in your business. |

| | | | | TRUE!!! No one is in control because Life is full of uncertainties, full of surprises. What really matter i guess is how you handle those surprises, those uncertainties. Thanks for sharing Sharon |
| | | | | Kim as usual you have gotten the gist and Jason thanks for your comments |
| | | | | People hardly have control of themselves, much less others - that's why extremism is so prevalent - over eating, hoarding, not being able to say no to things we ought to say no to. This is all a reflection of our inability to control first things first, starting with ourselves. |
