How To Make Tiramisu

Tiramisu (tih-ruh-mee-SOO) - The Italian translation for tiramisu is "carry me up." Also known as Tuscan Trifle. Tradition tiramisu is a pudding-like dessert that usually consists of sponge cake or ladyfingers dipped in a liqueur, then layered with grated chocolate and rich custard. Tramisu was originally made as a loose custard, it is only in recent years that using mascarpone cheese has come into fashion. 3 cups of brewed strong coffee cooled 2 (8 -ounce) containers mascarpone 5 eggs separated 14 oz of savoiardi cookies (firm lady fingers )or firm Italian cookies 4 oz of sugar plus 2 tablespoon or more for the coffee 2 shot of rum or Italian Marsala pinch of salt 2 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder 1\4 cup shaved dark chocolate for garnish Ok to make Your Tiramisu make your coffee and let it cool mix egg yolks with 2 oz of sugar and mix until you obtain a creamy light mixture. work the mascarpone in a bowl using a wooden spoon making sure you eliminate any lumps. then add the mascarpone to the sugar-egg mixture and continued to mix well in a separate bowl mix the egg whites with a pinch of salt and the remaining 2 oz of sugar until they reach a somewhat firm fluffy consistency then add them to the mascarpone mixture stir in the rum the next step is to dip the cookies onto the coffee but do not soak the cookies and lay into your glass pan cover the bottom then spread evenly the mascarpone cream or the cookies and then sprinkle the cocoa powder of the top over the cream and repeat the process with the next layers of cookies till you use all the cookies and cream. garnish the top of the cake with shaved dark chocolate. cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 3 hr. so the flavors can marry and the tiramisu can settle.
