7 Podcasts for Entrepreneurs

When I was in my 20’s back in the ‘80’s I listened to countless hours of Nightingale-Conant cassette tapes in my office and in my car learning more in those hours than I ever learned in school.

Cassette tapes gave way to CD discs but nowadays...

Podcasts are one of my newest obsessions. I’m a “Stitcher” guy because I use an android phone. If you are one of those “Apple people” you probably use iTunes instead.

Often I’m listening to Podcasts when I’m walking the dogs, sometimes I’m lifting weights or walking without my dogs. I listen to Podcasts when I’m driving (instead of listening to the radio) or when I’m hanging upside down on my inversion table (which is a whole other post - I love that thing - but I digress)

Podcasts are generally “viewable”, but 80 percent are listened to rather than viewed.

Podcasts are often in some sort of interview format although occasionally they are monologue with one (or two) speakers discussing some topic.

If you are in business and have something that your audience/customers would find worthwhile to hear you should consider podcasting as part of your marketing message. I know I am.

Just a minute ago I counted the Podcasts on my “favorites” list. I have 62!

No, I don’t listen to any of them every single day. More often I “binge listen” (almost always on 1.5 speed) 2 or 3 episodes of any one show over a 20/30 minute period - almost EVERY day because

  • I enjoy learning (I equate it with growing)
  • I get to learn from the very best in the world (high educational value)
  • It’s way easier for my learning style than reading

I listen to topics ranging from physical fitness to religion to personal finance to world events. The world of podcasting has almost any topic you can imagine.

Most of what I listen to is related to either personal development of “how to” do something business related (how to build a website - how to do your own podcast - how to sell online - etc)

Here are my current 7 favorite podcasts that I like for Entrepreneurs…

Amy Porterfield - Online Marketing Made Easy

Amy Porterfield is a marketing strategist helping entrepreneurs build their business online. The “value maven”, former Tony Robbins assistant always over delivers sage advice on subjects ranging from Facebook marketing to content creation.

The Tim Ferris Show

The author of “The 4 hour work week” “4-hour body” and “Tools of Titans”, Tim waxes philosophical and then drills down to lots of practical “hacks” on a wide range of business and personal topics.

The School of Greatness with Lewis Howes

You may not know his name but Lewis interviews the “who’s who” in every industry with a unique style focused on uncovering how the great’s got that way.

Bigger Pockets

Described as “ Real Estate Investing and Wealth Building to Help You Get Bigger Pockets”, this podcast is all about the many variations and strategies of real estate investing.

Social Media Marketing

Michael Stelzner sets the standard on all things Social Media Marketing. Doesn’t matter what social media platform you have questions about, you’ll find the answers on one of their weekly shows.

Entrepreneur on Fire

John Lee Dumas (aka JLD) is a podcast legend in the making with his daily (I mean EVERY day) podcast interviewing a wide range of Entrepreneurs. Be prepared to “ignite”.

Bulletproof Radio

High tech entrepreneur Dave Asprey made (and lost) a LOT of money but his health was killing him. He made hacking “healthy while wealthy” his mission.

So there is my eclectic 7. Each a little different in style and content but all dedicated to honoring the same entrepreneurial spirit.

Here’s to making 2018 the best year ever for you, your business and your family

Bill Bateman (like Batman with an “E” in the middle)

PS - like me, several of these podcast use Russell Brunson’s Clickfunnels platform (in fact JLD convinced me to try and use the platform) - if you’re looking to change your online marketing - listen to the Click Funnels story and I think you’ll feel the same way I do about the new way to market online

Click HERE is you’d like to “kick the tires” for 2 weeks for no cost to you
