After a 4 day stay in the hospital last year as a result of phenomena, I found out first hand the high cost of prescription medication. Upon my release, they sent me home with varies prescriptions, one totaling over $200 for 5 pills! Now, due to some of the assistance programs in my area, I was not required to pay for that medication and yes, I'm one of thousands without health insurance.
While the issue of affordable insurance can be debated for days, the reality is...there are many that rely on regular prescription medications that can not afford them. She called excitedly to tell me she had presented the discount card and went from over $100 to just $14.00! This was a tremendous help to her and she is thrilled.
