It's not a good idea to rush into a business without looking into the pros and cons of it. Examine home based business opportunities from all sides before making a final decision.
Business travel has many valuable benefits. If a trip is for business purposes rather than simply for pleasure, you may be able to deduct some expenses on your taxes. When planning a vacation, try finding seminar or conferences offered in your field to attend. Doing so allows you to make legal deductions.
Setting regular work hours for yourself and following them will help you maintain a good work/home life balance. You could ignore business calls after a certain hour, for instance. Make room for friends, family and for your own personal time.
One of the most helpful things for a home business owner is a group of peers who can offer input and advice. Seek out other home business owners and form a network. The people don't have to be in an identical industry, but they should have the same motivation and drive that you do.
