Scam Review: Motor Club of America

"Is Motor Club of America (MCA) an actual legitimate company or is it another one of those scams that preys on those that are struggling in today's economy?"

Motor Club of America was established in 1926 and has been recognized by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) as a provider of benefits ranging from roadside assistance to discounts on common dental/vision services and even legal representation all across the United States and Canada.

I know that, but is it a SCAM?!

Statistics show that if a company has been in business for over ten years, that basically means that they are doing pretty well. Because MCA offers an actual service when you sign up, this is very much a direct sales type of organization.

To become an associate of MCA, you must pay an upfront fee of $39.90 which is the first and last month of the Total Security package which costs $19.99 per month. Once that is paid, the associate is entitled to ALL of the same benefits that they will be selling to other potential prospects and members. What better way to know your product than owning it?

Then WHY do I see people recruiting for other recruiters?!

In addition to the commissions that TVC Matrix (the company that owns MCA) pays out to associates, associates also get overrides on sales that their direct recruiters receive. It is all part of the profit generation of the company and so many companies that provide products, benefits, and services will have this type of profit structure.

Then it HAS to be a PYRAMID or PONZI SCHEME!!!!!

The definition of a Pyramid Scheme is (as defined by the Federal Trade Commission) a "scheme that promises consumers or investors large profits based primarily on recruiting others to join the program, not based on profits from any real investment or real sale of goods to the public."

The definition of a Ponzi Scheme is "an investor/promoter generally has no product to sell and pays no commission to investors who recruit new "members". Instead, the promoter collects payments from a stream of people, promising them all the same high rate or return on a short-term investment."

Motor Club of America indeed does have an actual product to sell and maintain (roadside benefits, legal benefits, etc.)  and you do not have to recruit others to get paid the promised $80-$90 commission per sale!

Do you still have trouble believing that the company is indeed legitimate?
Then, I do encourage you to conduct your own research. It may be tough, but there are other articles that are not biased with their opinion of MCA because they are a recruiter. Keep your due diligence and ask ask ask your questions!

Until next time everyone, thanks for reading!
