Compensation plan or scam?

If you've been around network marketing for any time at all, you've surely come across all types of compensation plans. Probably the biggest scam ever run on people in MLM and network marketing is the powerline. You want to know why?

It creates the fear of loss. Some people might say that's a good thing, but I think it's one of the worst ways to build your business. Oh, yes, it can definitely work - to get people in. What do you have after that, though? A totally false business. Sure you may have a bunch of people sign up because they're afraid of losing their "position," but most of them will never do anything..

Many of the companies that do a powerline - or even a binary or a matrix - focus their promotional talk on spillover. Once again, have people gotten spillover. For sure. BUT - none of the people that were spilled over on them never do anything! Why? Because the promise of "spillover" creates a welfare mentality. They're afraid of losing something for nothing. So they do get in now. Then they sit and wait for all that spillover to make them rich. Isn't That A Wonderful Business Plan?

It's like joining a binary because you can get a position that already has $1 million volume in the strong leg. The reality is, you won't make a dime unless you build the weak leg. People get all worked up about losing that "$1 million position" and join but never do anything and never earn any income.

So never forget these words...powerline and spillover. Anytime you see them, their purpose is to promote the welfare mentality. Something for nothing, something for nothing, something for nothing. All you're going to do is draw in a bunch of couch potatoes who are convinced that you're going to build it for them. Matter of fact, why not just get their bank account number and pass the money directly to their account? They don't have to leave the couch. They can stay on the couch, drink their beer and watch a football game. No problem.

The fact is, we are in network marketing. Network marketing is a business that takes work. It's net-work marketing, not net-free marketing. It's not net-spillover marketing. It's not net-zero marketing. It takes work and, believe me, this is a lesson I've had to learn the hard way. Anything you do that promotes the "something for nothing" mindset will not work. End of story.

Use those words a red flag. Whatever company or whatever distributor is saying them to you, that's not the company or the person you want to depend on long-term. They won't be successful long-term. Keep on looking. There are lots of good companies out there. Keep looking till you find the right one.

To your success,

Crystal King
