Your Why Makes Your Purpose More Powerful

Listen to any personal development teacher, life coach, or even entrepreneur, and you’ll eventually be asked a powerful question. What is your ‘why’?

Most people don’t know their ‘why’…. they’re far too concerned with their ‘what’, as in “What is my next step?” or even more generically, “What am I going to do?”

Too many people get stuck on the what, not realizing the most powerful force in their life is answering “Why?”

Your why is the foundation for why you do what you do.

Your why is the motivation for continuing when things are hard.

Your why makes your what, whatever it is, exponentially more powerful.

In the example of the video above, just compare the two versions of “Amazing Grace” sung by the guy in the crowd. In the first version, which is good, he sings it simply going through the motions relying on his talent. The second version is much more powerful because it’s not only his talent coming through, but his emotion as well.

Your why is fueled by emotion.
Your what is fueled by talent.

Emotion dives most of our decisions….both good and bad.
Just look back at your own life, and you’ll see I’m speaking the truth here.

Look at some of the things you’ve purchased, you’ve invested in… was it the facts that sold you or the emotion you felt?
Look at some of your less proud dating choices…. did you choose based on fact or emotion?
Look at some of the times you stepped out of your comfort zone… I guarantee it was emotion over fact.

…and when your ‘why’ is bigger than yourself, bigger than any material thing, and connects with your emotional core, it will be the most powerful driving force you’ve ever had.
