As a life coach, often times, I’m brought in to help clients generate change quickly after they’ve “tried everything” to no avail. That statement “I’ve tried everything” can cause all types of havoc for the subconscious. First the word try is very dangerous in and of itself because it programs failure. Most of the things people try to do in life they fail at. Anyone who has tried to quit smoking can confirm this. However, someone who once smoked but is no longer a smoker can attest that they didn’t try to quit they just quit. So as Yoda would say never try just do. Secondly, the word everything is a huge problem because it tells your subconscious that nothing else can be done so stop looking. The truth is, if someone has done everything they would have the change that they want. However, people will believe this because they repeat to themselves “I’ve tried everything” over and over again. Your mind will believe you and shut down because you’ve just told it repeatedly there’s nothing else that can be done. When I consult with a client and hear this statement, a language shift is one of the first things we work on. If you ever fall into this trap you must first change your self-talk. Instead of saying “I’ve tried everything” ask yourself “What else can I do now to make this change and enjoy the process?”. This gives your subconscious a new challenge to work on and you will be surprised what it will come up with.

 | | Great blog, Chauncey. It reminds me of something George Carlin said about people looking for lost items: They'd say, "I've looked everywhere" and he'd respond, "apparently not"... |
| | | | | Change your language, change your life! Enjoyed reading this, sharing :) |
| | | | | What else can I do now to make this change and enjoy the process? Then sit back and let your subconscious take over! Some people will get an answer immediately but some it will take 24 hours. Some it will come in a dream others as inspired thought. |
| | | | | Great info Chauncey, thank you! |
| | | | | Hi Chauncey this is great info and I appreciate this. Which words do we choose. I am learning this and correct myself when I realize what I am saying. |
| | | | | Hey Coach - great to make your acquaintance! I agree 100% - the better approach is always... "What haven't I tried?" The mind is so creatively fabulous, it will conjure up at least 16 new solutions. Continued success to you! |
| | | | | Good suggestion for everyone to remember. Actually when people say those words, they really have not tried everything, they just haven't found the right niche that fits them. |
