Confession: I overcome by the blood of the Lam and the word of my testimony.
"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death." ~Revelation 12:11 NKJV
There are two things that are very important for us to live the victorious life - the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony, or our confession. Joshua 1:8 says, "Keep this Book of the law on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful" (TNIV).
As you know, there are some well-meaning Bible teachers who believe that God only wants to bless us in the sweet by-and-by. But as the Scripture above indicates (as well as many others like it), God has a plan for us to live the overcoming life right now. It is up to us to follow through. He has provided the Word and the power of the blood.
No matter how the situation looks in the natural, we must make certain not to speak words of defeat; we must speak only the Word of God, because according to Mark 11:23, we will have what we say. Overcoming by the word of your testimony simply means giving voice to your faith. Speaking the Word aloud is a reminder to you that through Christ Jesus you have authority.
We cannot allow ourselves to become so busy with the cares of this life that we neglect our spiritual lives. No condemnation intended here, but we have to make sure we are taking care of Kingdom business if we want to be overcomers. Remember, you have the power of the blood, and the Word of God. You are in a position to live a blessed life.
