When Faced With a Moral Dilemma  – What Shapes Your Decisions?!

Keeping God #1 in Your Business (PR_Vol_60)

1 Corinthians 1:27,28 (KJV)
27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; … 28) And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are.

What principles inform your decision making? Imagine that you had an extra thousand dollars to spare and you are confronted with a homeless single mother of four dirty and hungry children seeking your help. Would you use the thousand dollars to help this woman?

Now, consider that just before you handed the money over, a rich long term non-Christian friend of yours; whom you have been witnessing to, calls you up and seeks your help requesting that you loan him one thousand dollars to take care of a very serious emergency situation. He tells you that he will be right there in his brand new Mercedes to pick up the money in a few minutes. Who would you help?

Before you say, the single mother, do you know whether she is in rebellion to God and her Christian husband; who has great resources and she is unnecessarily endangering the children?

Do you know that perhaps it is God’s will, that you give the money to the rich man you’ve been ministering to; because this act will be the act that shows him God’s love and he becomes a diligent Christian; funding the gospel? Would you base your decision on just emotion and what appears to be a feather in your cap?

If you had seen the prodigal son who wasted his inheritance (Luke 15:11-32); sitting in a pig pen eating pig food, would you have given him money; thereby preventing his return to his father so that God could show him the power of unconditional love and redemption? Would you want to be somebody’s god?

Beloved, giving to people in need is our Christian duty, it is a good thing. However, a good thing is not always the right thing. But the right thing is always a good thing. The bible tells us "...the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." (1 Corinthians 2:14-15)

My friend, as a Re-born believer in Jesus Christ and His Finished” redemptive work, you have the Holy Spirit of God dwelling in you (1 Corinthians 3:16). He is always there to give you counsel and discernment. “Trust in the Lord with ALL thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6) In ALL thy ways acknowledge Him, and he shall direct thy paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
