The Amazing Grace and The Goodness of God

Keeping God #1 in Your Business (PR_Vol_100)

Genesis 15:13-15 (KJV) Abram’s Covenant of Grace.
13) And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;
 14) And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.

What kind of works did Abram do to deserve God’s blessings? – Nothing! All Abram did was BELIEVE GOD! (Romans 4:2-3) It had nothing to do with any works of the flesh or self effort. It was all God’s Grace. Even when Abram lied and sold out his wife twice, God still blessed him. As a matter of fact, Abram got in trouble only when he tried to help God out; by using his own efforts to bear a son; Ishmael through Hagar.

This covenant of Grace and unmerited favor as stated in the scripture above, endured for 400+ years through to the deliverance of the Jews from Egypt and to Mount Sinai until the Jews boasted in their own self effort and ability to keep ALL of God’s laws. Hence the introduction of the Covenant of the law; which only strengthens sin. (1Cor 15:56)

Beloved, you too are under the covenant of Grace. "For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ." (John 1:17) God is not good to you because you are good, or because of your good works. God is good to you because God is GOOD. He is good to you because of His unmerited, undeserved, Amazing Grace and favor.

My friend, did you know that God will not be denied to favor you? (2 Timothy 2:13) (AMP) "If we are faithless [do not believe and are untrue to Him], He remains true (faithful to His Word and His righteous character), for He cannot deny Himself." The only question is, do you BELIEVE Him.

Consider the history of the Jews. When God delivered the Jews from Egypt, the Abrahamic covenant of Grace was still upon them 400+ years later. (Psalm 105:37) “He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.” -

Even so, the Jews murmured, griped complained and were faithless and ungrateful to God and His appointed leader. They even desired to return to Egypt and wished they were dead.

Exodus 14:11-13 (NLT) 11) And they said to Moses, “Why did you bring us out here to die in the wilderness? Weren't there enough graves for us in Egypt? What have you done to us? Why did you make us leave Egypt?
Exodus 15:23-25 (NIV) 24) Then the people complained and turned against Moses. “What are we going to drink?” they demanded. 25) So Moses cried out to the Lord for help, and the Lord showed him a piece of wood. Moses threw it into the water, and this made the water good to drink.?
Exodus 16:2-5 (NIV) 2) There, too, the whole community of Israel complained about Moses and Aaron. 3) “If only the Lord had killed us back in Egypt,” they moaned. “There we sat around pots filled with meat and ate all the bread we wanted. But now you have brought us into this wilderness to starve us all to death.” – Can you just imagine God’s Grace and patience for this people?

In spite of all the grumbling, faithlessness and ingratitude, God blessed the Jews and met all their needs because of His Amazing Grace and His covenant of love that He promised to Abraham and his seed. You are the seed of Abraham. This is the same Grace under which you and I operate today. You are not under the law. (Romans 6:14) "For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.” - May the Grace of God continue to shine upon your life.
