Keeping God #1 in Your Business (PR_Vol_118)

Are God’s Promises Manifesting in Your Life?

Philippians 4:19 [NLT]
19) “And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus..”

The question we confront in this message is in practice, how do you physically receive and manifest God’s Will and promises in your life on a day to day basis? First of all, we must cultivate a sole and total dependence on the Grace of God and the Finished Works of Jesus Christ upon the cross; setting aside reliance on self effort.

Depending solely on Grace and the Finished Works of Jesus Christ is like depending solely on your primary parachute to open up when you go sky diving; without the fear, premonition and concern that it might not open and therefore relying on your secondary chute. Many Christians say that they depend on God’s Grace and the Finished Works of Jesus Christ, but they very often place a huge reliance on the secondary chute of self effort. This kind of practice will render you “neither hot nor cold” and frustrated.

The word “need” in the scripture above is translated in Greek as “Demand or Order”. So, you could read the scripture like this; “And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your (Demands/orders). You must place orders with God for your needs. He did say Ask, Seek and Knock, right?  As an example, when you receive a prescription from a doctor, it is an order for remedies written on paper. You must take that order to a Pharmacist and place an order for your medication. If don’t do this, you will not receive/manifest your prescription even though it is readily available.

Likewise, when you go to a restaurant, they give you a menu that shows you that they have all kinds of meals readily available for you to customize, choose from and enjoy. But first you must put in an order with the waitress/waiter who will present your order to the cook who cooks the meal and then it is presented to you. If you just sit there reading the menu, your food will not be made manifest.

Similarly, God has given you a menu of blessings; called the bible. You must know what’s in the menu and make you order in Jesus name; in order to manifest your blessings. Thereafter, you should take God at His word, begin to give thanksgiving and hold fast in your dependence on the Grace of God (your primary Chute). And set aside your reliance on your secondary chute of self effort. See (Mark 11:23)

Child of God, you might say; “But coach, I must work and do something, Right? I can’t just rest, sit on my hands and do nothing”. How do I practically reconcile these seemingly contrary advices? – The answer is to stay in God’s presence and here is an idea of how you do that.

The bible says that “Jesus has been made unto us; wisdom” (1Corinthians 1:30). You see, anytime you are listening to, reading, or saying the word of God, you are practicing His presence. And in His presence, there is peace wisdom and divine direction.

So, make this confession daily. Say, “Jesus you are Lord over my spirit, my soul, and my body and you have been made unto me, Wisdom, Righteousness, Sanctification and Redemption. I hereby acknowledge you in all my ways and I thank you for directing my paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6). Once you’ve established this foundation, be at rest, believe, and do whatever comes to your conscience to do. That is the voice of the Holy Spirit guiding you. (John 16:13). Believe, Trust and obey!

Doing “Work” while you’re resting, is believing and performing the activities directed by the Holy Ghost. The people asked Jesus in (John 6:28-29) NLT;
) They replied, “We want to perform God’s works, too. What should we do? … 29) Jesus told them, “This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent.”

My friend, instead of striving to “Live Right” just focus on “Believing Right.” As a result, “Living Right” will become the effortless fruit of you re-born spirit. See (Galatians 5:22-23) God did not create us to focus on avoiding sin, He created us to focus on Jesus Christ and Hi finished works upon the cross, in order to manifest His abundant blessings.
