Overcoming Fear! (Part 3)

Keeping God #1 in Your Business (PR_Vol_135)
Overcoming Fear! (Part 3)

Romans 8:15 (NLT)
15) So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children.  Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”

Welcome to (Part 3) of this series. I hope you have availed yourself to (Parts 1 & 2) and If not, I would suggest that you do so now, as it would help you to put (Part 3) in the proper context. In this segment, we will continue to expose the causes, the scourge of fear and how to overcome it.

To overcome and keep fear from having control in your life, you must feed on the gospel because this gospel of Jesus Christ is the POWER of God unto salvation (deliverance and wholeness) in all aspects of your life.

You must guard the things that you allow to enter into your mind through your “eye gate”, your “ear gate”, and the idle words that come out of your mind through your mouth. If you sit down and listen to doubt and unbelief all day long, then that’s what you’ll be full of and that’s all you will have to rely on in the time of trouble because it is out of the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks.

My friend, in this world, people are fond of speaking idle words that curse them and bring fear and various levels of death into their lives. They think these words are harmless. They don’t understand that words are spirit and they are seeds. When you speak them you’ve planted them and they will produce a harvest in your future whether for good or for bad.

People will say things like I’m scared to death, I’m tickled to death, I love you to death, I love you to pieces, I could die for this or I could die for that, I fear the worst, I’d give my right arm for that, you drive me crazy, you’ll catch your death of cold, my body aches like I was hit by a Mack truck. None of these words will build your faith. People think they are harmless figures of speech but the bible says in (Matthew 12:36) NLT “And I tell you this, you must give an account on judgment day for every idle word you speak.” These words lodge into your subconscious and they become your way of life.

Child of God, you are admonished in the bible to renew your mind. (Romans 12:2) renewing your mind means that you exchange and replace your thoughts, speech and mindset with God’s thought speech and mindset. God says that His thoughts and ways are not yours (Isaiah 55:8, 9).

When you see that your thoughts do not line up with God’s word, you don’t try to change His words; you allow His words to change your thoughts, words and mindset. Renewing your mind is not a one-time event. It is a lifetime process. Every single day, you should speak out of your mouth; what God says about your health, provision, family and your status in Him. Tell him what you desire. (Philippians 4: 6-8)

Once you know and appreciate the perfected love of God for you, you’re not going to harbor fear in your heart. You will embrace faith through His grace because “perfect love casts out all fear” (1John 4:18). Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. Acknowledge Him in all your ways and He will direct your path. (Proverbs 3:5, 6)

Finally beloved, in whatever situation that you find yourself, the first question that you should ask yourself is, “what does the word of God say about this situation”? Consult your bible, seek God’s wisdom, pray in tongues (1 Corinthians 14:2) and you will get your answer. This answer is what you declare, confess and meditate upon day and night; as you thank God for the physical manifestation of His promises in your life.
