Renewing My Mind! (Part 2 of 2)

(Romans 8:6) (NLT)
"So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace".

Welcome to (Part 2) of this series. I hope you afforded yourself the opportunity to study (Part 1). If not, please Click Here to access (Part 1) so that you can get a more complete understanding of this very important aspect of your life.  In (Part 2) of this two-part series, We will cover how to renew your mind and operate in that renewal so that the scripture becomes (Rhema); the living word, so that you can actually manifest the intended blessings of God’s scriptures in your life.

3. Renewing your mind, operating in the gospel of grace
My friend, there is no doubt that it is easier for most Christians to attempt to live holy and please God by following a set of written rules and regulations set forth in the Old Covenant of the Mosaic Laws and the 10 commandments, rather than renewing your mind and living solely by faith; in reliance on the directions and guidance of the Holy Spirit; whom you do not see, and perhaps don't understand,  because you don't regularly fellowship with Him.

Now let’s break this down. - Renewing your mind and living by grace through faith; first of all requires that you really, really, really, (should I say that one more time?) you must really understand that “Believing Right” , and NOT “Doing Right” is the only way to bear the fruit of “Living Right”. Living Right is a fruit. It is attained by grace through faith. It is not the result of your will power, self discipline or your works of tedious adherence to the rules and regulations of the Law.  A renewed mind understands that it’s your consciousness of the Father’s love for you that produces spiritual maturity and true holiness.

Okay, let’s break this down further. – You must truly believe that Jesus has already done the works to qualify you to receive "everlasting righteousness" (Daniel 9:24), and "ALL the promises that pertain to life and godliness" (2 Peter 1:3). ALL you need to do is to ask Him to reveal to you by the Holy Spirit how to receive the manifestation. When stuff happens, don’t pray to God to do something about it; as the un-renewed mind does. This would be a prayer of unbelief. Instead, pray to God for insight by the Holy Spirit on how to receive what he has already done and provided for the situation.

For instance, always fight FROM victory and NOT FOR victory. A renewed mind understands that you are already the victor and the devil is trying to steal your victory. – When the FACTS say you are sick, your renewed mind affirms the TRUTH that “by His stripes you were and are healed” (1 Peter 2:24). Ask the Holy Spirit for discernment on how to receive the physical manifestation. (Truth always trumps facts). The word of God is TRUTH. When you are weak, continuously thank god that you are strong. (Joel 3:10)

When you are in financial need, your renewed mind should be saying, father
I thank you that “though Jesus was rich, yet for my sake He became poor; that through His poverty I might become rich”. (2 Corinthians 8:9)

The renewed mind focuses on making manifest; the solution that’s already been provided. The un-renewed mind will offer much prayers, good works according to the Law, and fasting; trying to convince and impress upon God to give what He has already given.

Turn to your re-created spirit daily for discernment, direction and illumination
(Proverbs 20:27). “The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord”. The Holy Spirit communicates with you (John 16:13) through your re-created human spirit, and the voice of your spirit is your sanctified conscience. Whereas, the voice of your soul is your reasoning and the voice of your body/flesh are your feelings. Pay attention to your conscience and do what it tells you to do. Also, observe (Philippians 4:8) and
(2 Corinthians 10:5)

Ask God for the same gift that Solomon asked for “An understanding mind and a hearing heart” (1 kings 3:9) AMP. In every situation that you find yourself, keep on beholding Jesus. “As Jesus is, so are you in the earth” (1 john 4:17). Your renewed mind will focus on the finished works of Jesus on your behalf and not the problems or challenges.

Beloved, remember that as long as Peter kept his focus on Jesus, he was able to walk on water and stay above the storm. Do likewise with your renewed mind, and you too will stay above the storms of life. (Matthew 14:22-33)
