Today I have decided to try something new. I am creating my blog by using the speech to text function on my android phone. My goal is to spend less time formatting fine looking sentences and be a little more free with the content that I'm actually putting on the page. As I close my eyes and speak I can concentrate more on getting my point across than what it looks like on paper but just like anything else it does take practice. I find myself stopping after every sentence and then analyzing what I'm going to say for the next sentence but that is really not my goal. What I want to achieve is a free flow on some of my ideas but I have to admit it's not quite as easy as what I thought it would be.
Have you ever tried to dictate an email by using the speech to text function on your phone? If not then give it a try create an email and send it to yourself and then use your phone to dictate the message to yourself. Don't worry what it looks like and don't worry about mistakes and if the occasional word is wrong. Once you send the completed email to yourself then take a look at what you have written and see what you can change or how you can improve. Maybe try going quicker from 1 sentence to the next putting less forethought into what you're going to say just let your ideas flow. I realize that an experience blogger will think this is kind of dumb but for those who are not experienced maybe it will help you to get started. After all what the reader really wants to hear is your thoughts and your ideas so give it a try and let me know what you think. Maybe you will find something that works for you. We have all this great technology so lets find some new ways to use it.
The idea is interesting. Will it work?
