This post is a follow on from my earlier one a few days ago: How You Can Optimize Your Landing Pages and Make Them Convert Like Crazy!
Tip number 1. K.I.S.S. – Keep it simple stupid!
I’m sure most of you reading this will have heard this classic rule, keep it simple. This is a landing page and you need just as much information as is needed to get your visitors to take the action you want them to take.
The design must be clean and easy to navigate, perhaps with the main navigation menu stripped out too so your page is ultra targeted. The copy must be concise and to the point; nobody wants to read walls of text having just been enticed through from an exciting offer or call to action! Bullet points work well at breaking up copy too – three succinct bullet points are better than a three-sentence paragraph.
Don’t forget to add a striking image for effect, although sometimes simpler pages can work just as well.
Tip number 2. Have a strong Call To Action on your form.
This should be self explanatory but a form without a strong C.T.A. is the reason why a lot of marketers fail. Instead of going into great detail about this take a look at the image below and note the call to action on Office Vibes form.
You can see why the wording here is so much more powerful than simply saying something like ‘Find Out More’.
Tip number 3. Speak your customer’s language.
Try and get into the head of your prospective customer, imagine who your ideal prospect is, and then talk the same language that they would use. Don’t make this overcomplicated!
Tip number 4. Have a responsive design.
You should all know what this means, your page must be optimised for mobile browsers as well as desktop browsers. The world is changing very fast and more people are accessing the web via mobile devises than personal computers.
Finally tip number 5. Keep testing.
Everything we do can be improved so keep testing and tweaking your landing pages till you find the one that works best for you.
