How Content Marketing Has Changed and What You Need To Do Now!
Broadly speaking content marketing is the process of creating and publishing content on the web in order for it to get found by the search engines and as a result we get visitors to our sites.
It’s a great strategy but it has changed out of all recognition to what it was a few years ago.
Then all you had to too was produce some very mediocre content and whoever produced the most won the rankings. It really was that simple but not any longer!
Content marketing has evolved a lot in a very short time span. What was once a market dominated by whoever could produce the largest volume of marginal-quality content is now a market where success is based largely on your connections, diversity of content formats and your ability to connect with and engage an audience across multiple channels!
It’s a fact that 70% of Americans, and so I would imagine all western countries, read or listen to reviews published on blogs or forums.
How do we make content marketing work in 2016.
Firstly we need this one thing:
“You need to create ridiculously good content -- content that is useful, enjoyable and inspired,”
That is not just my opinion it’s this is from Ann Handley, chief content officer of MarketingProfs.
Not so long ago all we had to do then was throw a load of inbound links back to the content and hey presto we had ranking content.
Once again this is now not so easy. What we have to do now promote that content across different platforms by re purposing the content, not for the back links but to get actual views to our piece.
