Most, if not all marketers use some form of social media in their marketing campaigns and Facebook is the first one that comes to mind.
Where most new folk go wrong is in thinking that social media is there for you to post your opportunity link on, and then hey presto everyone will be clambering to join your business. I wish!
Some claim this works for them, and I can’t dispute that because I’m not doing it. To me it just doesn’t make sense to use platforms like Facebook to do that, even on your business page.
What we should be posting on Social Media is content, from our blogs, our videos and press releases. This way we are giving out valuable information and branding ourselves as someone who knows what they are doing.
So what is the best time to post on our social media sites?
Well here are some figures I’ve pulled from the Hubspot Blog
Facebook. People use Facebook at home, at work and on both mobile and desktop and the best times to post are:
- 00 – 1.00pm on Saturdays and Sundays
- 00 - 4.00pm on Wednesdays
- 00 - 4.00pm on Thursdays and Fridays
Twitter. Twitter is used at work and at home, usually when commuting or taking a break and the best times to post here are:
- 00 – 3.00pm on Mondays through to Friday
- And for some strange reason 5.00 – 6.00pm on Wednesdays
Linkedin. This is for professionals who tend to use it during working hours and the best times to post are:
- 30 – 8.30am, 12.00pm and 5.00 – 6.00pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
- Also 10.00 – 11.00am on Tuesdays
So there you have it and I am presuming these times are based on American research so the times will be different if we want to reach a European audience.
Thankfully I shan’t be worrying about these too much as it would be too much of a headache wondering about the time difference from here in the UK.
I use social media to share my content and from my own observations every time I post to Twitter I do get a spike in the numbers of people viewing my content.
What is your favourite Social Media platform and how do you use it? Let me know in the comments.
