I recently attended the first Restart Your Life convention in Charlotte, North Carolina.
I do have to say that it was the best decision I could have made for my business. It wasn’t the best time for me to be out of town, but I made it happen anyway. I could have come up with a million excuses as to why I couldn’t go: I can’t afford the plane fare and hotel costs for 2 nights, my daughter is getting married in four weeks and there is so much to do, she is moving out of her college apartment that weekend and I should help her pack/unpack, or even my son has a baseball tournament that I can’t miss. But, treating my business like a business and not like a hobby meant that I needed put all the excuses aside and just go!
Meeting many of the corporate leaders and other distributors as well was so exciting. I learned so much to help me build a successful business by sitting down and talking to others. Everyone was so willing to share ideas and what they are doing to be successful. If I had chosen to stay home, I would have missed this. Hearing testimonies from people that have experienced phenomenal results from our products inspired me to keep getting out there and talking to people.
If you are serious about building your business, you need to be at your company’s events. There is no way that you can hear about it second hand and expect it to be the same. The excitement you feel by being with a group of like minded people will propel your business to the next level. If you want to make serious money, you need to get serious about your business. Listen to training calls, educate yourself about you product, and develop a list of books that will inspire you and then read them. But, most of all, if there is an event sponsored by your company, attend! It will be the best decision you have ever made.
