As you look at the landscape of your life that you’ve studied and survey where you you are now in comparison to where you’d like to be in the near future, the question often comes up about what to do next? What is the road map that can begin to make what was always possible for you a part of your new reality?
Decisions are the starting point to create actual change in your life!
There is nothing more powerful or transformative that you can do in your life than make a decision. Every choice you make brings with it the power and possibilities that are contained within. Equally important, the power that each decision brings with it is open ended - it evolves organically over time. So what might begin as a simple choice involving a very small idea of minor consequence can evolve into an absolutely life-changing experience.
This is the magic of decision-making! It is often, if not always, more than it seems at first!
There are mysteries all around us in life. It has been said that the fact that you can read and make meaning out of the symbols (text) in this blog is a miracle of itself. As we observe and make meaning out of what happens to and around us, there seems to be things within our control and others outside of our influence that take place every day. In the “Beyond Freedom Evolution” curriculum we are primarily concerned with those areas that fall within our control - the vast majority of which comprises our lives.
The course explores way to think and behave that create the results we are looking for. So as you continue to take control over the experiences you have in your life, you will discover that no change can take place without someone first making a new decision.
Everything will continue in the current direction without a new force being applied to it. These forces can be internal or external. In terms of what you can control in your life, this force begins with a thought or belief, then progresses to a direction and action, which creates a new direction or result in your life. For processes within your control it doesn’t happen any other way.
Beware!
Many people have the tendency to be attentive and work hard on these principles for a short period of time, then lose their momentum. One of the key habits we are developing is to stay focused and finish the job, so be particularly wary when you feel you’ve lost some of the enthusiasm you had previously for this process.
In my own life, some decisions have taken me down the wrong path or have not yielded the results I have expected. This is a natural part of the decision making process and as you learn what is right for you both personally and professionally. A few years back I was at a cross roads with my business so looked at other career opportunities. I applied for the fire service and went through the first stages of testing but did not get all the way through. I received a letter in the mail which confirmed that I was not successful and due to my disappointment put the letter in the bin before reading the entire letter. A month or two later I got a letter seeing if I was interested in being considered for the next intake. Little did I know that the original letter has said I was on the waiting list for the next course. For the next few weeks I madly got back into my fitness program to lose the festive kilos and get back into shape after the initial disappointment. I jumped at the chance and was accepted as a professional fire fighter.
Sometimes it is worth reading everything you receive as out of every disappointment can lead to bigger and better things :)
