Successful People Look to the Future

Something I've noticed about successful people is that they're future oriented.

Always seeking to find what's around the corner, they're not afraid of sciences and new advancements, but are constantly seeking new solutions and new ways of addressing the pressing problems of the times.

And they know when to abandon stranded assets. Have you heard of this term? If not, here's the Wikipedia definition. In the latest blog post to my website, I discuss stranded assets in the context of Canada's upcoming federal election.

Coincidentally, as I am writing this post, I just saw this article about how Sweden wants to become the first fossil-free nation in the world. Now that's forward looking!

Not only will this help Sweden to avoid all the spills and pollution and their associated costs that come with climate change, but they'll be giving themselves a head start by adopting the technology of the future. Isn't this what all countries should be doing?

As they say, the stone age didn't end because we ran out of stones. We invented better things to take their place. We're at a similar turning point, and need our visionary impulses more than ever!

The kind of success we're looking at isn't just monetary. Imagine how our health will benefit when we're not treating our land, air and water as a garbage dump. Imagine how much more beautiful everything will be when it's free of contamination.

Success can be defined very broadly, and the kind of successful I want to be is the very broadest kind.
