Is your approach repelling your prospects?


How do you first approach a potential prospect? Are you making an attempt to get to know something about them before dropping your links in their posts or sending newcomers an immediate message to look at your business before they have even settled into the group or community? 

The big question I always ask people is do you like that when someone does that to you? I have yet to have anyone answer YES!

Do you feel like geesh, can you say hello, use my name at least before you try to sell me something?

If you are following up or calling a prospect that has asked for more information, this is a completely different IMO.

When someone has taken time to leave me their name, email and phone number looking for a home business for example, I get straight to the point.

Why? Because if they are curious rather than serious (over 80% of people who opt in are curious), my first phone call is to qualify my prospect, not get to know them. When I was taught this it changed my business approach immediately and it works!

You aren't spending 'your' valuable time with someone who is not a good prospect and a name and an email doesn't make them a good prospect. 

However, when somoene joins a new group or community and immediately you start firing off your links to them, I personally use that as a sorting tool for people who I am much less likely to do business with.

When you are building your business with integrity and want to work with people who are committed to work along side of you (MLM, NWM, Affiliate and Direct Sales), there is no value in selling or enrolling people through pressure tactics. They are almost always never going to do anything and it is like carrying a ball and chain along with you. 

That is building your business as an uphill battle and we all know the saying "nothing smells worse than desperation". 

Another way this can show up is what we call 'verbal diaharea'. You immediately start selling and telling and you haven't even found out if they are a good fit for your product, business or opportunity.

We are so afraid to ask for the sale, or ask if they are serious in their search we start spilling out all the details and in many cases, mine for sure, we have a system of tools and automation to do that for us and that is what makes it duplicatable. Duplication over time will equate to time freedom. What the automation can't do is call our prospects and have a real conversation with them. That takes courage and a willingness to be hear no as an answer on the way to a yes!

This is how you build a team of people who have a much higher chance at success because you allowed them to make an educated decision. You  understand your product, business or service is not for everyone and that needs to be a part of a successful business owners mentality, which will in time allow you to 'enjoy' what you do because you have the right clients and team members to work with.

Quality over quantity any day.

This is how IMO you create the true lifestyle of a successful home based business entrepeneur. There is no true freedom in pulling teeth for a living unless you are a dentist. 

Your mindset, confidence, willingness to qualify your prospects before trying to 'sell' them something will get you a lot farther down the road to success. Enrolling the right people builds a much stronger foundation and that is vital for anything you want to create!
